Angels Surf School

Angels Surf School is a surf school in Carcavelos, Lisbon, Portugal.

Angels Surf School is Marcos Anastácio’s Carcavelos school — the former Portuguese national champion and European vice-champion founded it around the turn of the century. FPS-accredited coaches keep groups tiny, book by phone or WhatsApp around tide and swell, and the beach sits on the Cascais line between Lisbon and Cascais.

Lessons

  • Regular lessons — beginner, progression and advanced/pre-competition; 90 minutes; group or private; all material included; max 3 students per teacher
  • Level 1 Beginner — soft foam boards; ages 5+; safety, sea reading, paddling, take-off
  • Level 2 Progression — ages 10+; outside surfing and manoeuvres
  • Level 3 Advanced / pre-competition — ages 10+; advanced manoeuvres and competition formats
  • Special children’s lessons — weekends by prior booking; times posted Thursdays on Facebook for good conditions
  • Personal trainer lessons — individual programme for children and adults
  • Erasmus student lessons — special conditions with equipment provided

Rentals

  • Surfboards, bodyboards, SUPs and wetsuits via specialised sister service Portugal Surf Rentals (Lisbon area)

Camps

  • Surf Clinics — Easter (April) and summer (June–September); weekdays roughly 09:00–18:00; up to two surf lessons per day; equipment, licensed transport, insurance; ages 6–18; food supplement optional

When to go
